CAMDEN, Maine — The Camden fire and police departments will be holding a Citizen’s Public Safety Academy this fall.
The academy will provide a basic understanding of fire and police departments and how they operate. Subjects covered will include fire suppression, traffic stops, rescue operations and use of force.
The program is open to anyone ages 16 years or older who might have questions or interests in the field of public safety, according to a news release from the public safety departments.
The classes are free and will be held 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Camden Public Safety Building. The first class will start on Oct. 5 and continue through Nov. 16.
Registration forms can be found at the Camden Public Safety Building. Applicants under the age of 18 must sign a waiver form that is located with the application form. Please return all application and waiver forms to the Camden Public Safety Building.
