BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police are investigating a truck-building crash that occurred Wednesday on State Street.
The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at Salon La Posh at 137 State St.
Witnesses said the driver of the pickup, a silver GMC Sierra that still bears temporary license plates, fled on foot after the crash.
A woman who was at the salon said a suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
In addition to hitting the building, the pickup grazed a Pontiac Vibe owned by Marco Almodovar of Bangor, who was visiting a friend at the Elegante Barber Studio located next door at 135 State St.
“I’ve never been involved in an accident,” he said. “Thank God I wasn’t in the car at the time.”
The crash appears to be domestic-violence related, a Bangor Police Department official said about 6 p.m. No other information was being released at that time.
