PROSPECT, Maine — Two men died and a third was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday evening in Prospect.
John Moriarty, 59, of Bangor and Brad Pomeroy, 35, of Searsport, died at the scene of the crash, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Sunday in a news release.
Adam Littlefield, 31, of Winterport was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries, McCausland said.
The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. on North Searsport Road, when the 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup the three were riding in struck a utility pole and rolled over several times before coming to rest upright, McCausland said.
All three men were ejected from the vehicle, and state police have not yet determined who was driving, he said.
Speed was the cause of the crash, he said.
The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office assisted state police at the scene.
