ORONO, Maine — A 27-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday after a school employee found him intoxicated and under her desk, according to Orono Police Chief Josh Ewing.
Levi Ashley of Orono was charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief, the police chief said.
“An employee of the superintendent’s office arrived early at work (5 a.m.) and found a male inside her office, sleeping under her desk,” Ewing said. “When the male saw her, he left the office and went into another room.”
The employee immediately left the building and called 911, Ewing said.
“Officers arrived and discovered Levi Ashley … of Orono still inside and passed out,” Ewing said. “Ashley was intoxicated.”
“It appears that entry was made through a window [after] an air conditioner had been pushed inside,” the police chief said.
Minor damage in the superintendent’s office was reported and “several rooms had papers and phones that were pushed off desks and left on the floor,” he said.
Ashley was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor and was bailed out by 2 p.m., a jail official said.
