PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire — Parents in Portsmouth say one teacher went too far this Halloween.
The math teacher allegedly dressed up as Donald Trump and danced to an explicit song in front of her students.
Portsmouth’s school superintendent says he can’t comment on the specifics because it is a personnel matter, but says the teacher has been taken out of the classroom, after a video of her allegedly dressed as Donald Trump surfaced online. (Warning: explicit language.)
The superintendent said the video posted by some students’ parents on Facebook show math teacher Kara Kelley, dressed as Donald Trump and dancing to an explicit song about the candidate in the classroom.
The Portsmouth school district said Kelley teaches algebra and geometry at the high school and has been taken out of the classroom while the district investigates.
Some students say the incident is being blown out of proportion, however, some parents and grandparents say they were appalled at what they saw.
“It’s pretty disgusting. It’s a very liberal school. I’m not happy,” says Kathy Dufton, grandmother.
Portsmouth’s school superintendent would not comment on how long the teacher will be out of the classroom or what discipline she could face.
He says they are still investigating.
