The Maine Warden Service has identified the man who died Sunday on Damariscotta Lake in Jefferson.

Corey Jacques, 42, of Wiscasset died after falling overboard from his boat while it was being towed by another boat, according to Maine Warden Service Lt. Kevin Adam.

Jacques was wearing a personal flotation device, according to Adam. The occupants of the boat towing Jacques’ boat got him out of the water and brought him to the public boat ramp off Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.

Adam said the chief medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.

Jacques’ wife and daughter were in the boat with him, according to Adam.

Further details of the incident, such as the precise whereabouts of the incident on the lake, were not immediately available.

The Lincoln County Communications Center dispatched emergency services to the boat ramp at 4:23 p.m. for a report of a boat en route to the ramp with “CPR in progress” on a passenger.

The Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service, Jefferson Fire and Rescue, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine Warden Service, and Waldoboro Emergency Medical Services responded to the ramp to meet the boat.
