Deputies used the opioid antidote Narcan to revive a man allegedly overdosing on narcotics at Songo Locks recreational area in Naples on July 30, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Deputies found a 26-year-old Otisfield man down and not responsive. Deputies administered a 4-milligram dose of Narcan and performed life saving measures until Naples Rescue arrived,” the sheriff’s office news release read, in part. “Naples Rescue gave another 2-milligram dose of Narcan, which was able to revive the overdosed male.”

The incident took place just after 6:30 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies allegedly recovered narcotics on the scene and are continuing to investigate.

The man was transported to Bridgton Hospital.
