An 88-year-old man died Saturday when he lost control of his car on a snowy road in Sanford and collided with an oncoming vehicle, according to police.

Donald Yeskoo of Wells was killed around 4:41 p.m. when his Honda SUV crossed the centerline of Country Club Road and hit a westbound Ford pickup truck head-on, Sanford police said.

The driver of the Ford, Calvin Hilton, 69, of Ogunquit, was not injured, but passengers in both cars were both taken to nearby hospitals.

Donald Yeskoo’s passenger, 82-year-old Joan Yeskoo, was transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, with internal injuries, and Arline Racin, 72 of Ogunquit, was taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford “possible injuries,” police said.

Sanford police and firefighters responded to the crash, which happened near Channel Lane. It is still under investigation, police said.
