The Bristol branch of Damariscotta Bank and Trust was robbed just before 9:45 a.m. Monday, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office is searching for a suspect described as a white female, 35 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 200 pounds with reddish-brown, shoulder-length hair, Lt. Michael Murphy wrote in a release Monday afternoon.

She was last seen wearing a light-colored coat over a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants and sneakers, according to the release, and possibly driving a red Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery, and no one was hurt, according to the release. The sheriff’s office declined to say how much money was stolen.

The Damariscotta Police Department and a tracking dog from the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

The suspect left in an unknown direction.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone who may have security footage of the area of the bank, located at 2578 Bristol Road in Bristol, from Monday morning or who may have seen anything or have information to contact detective Scott Hayden at 882-7332 or by email at shayden@lincolnso.me.
