PORTLAND, Maine — A 19-year-old who is charged with murder in the death of a man in Maine’s largest city has been ordered held without bail.
The Portland Press Herald reports Tyrese Collins appeared in court Monday in connection with the death of 45-year-old Jack Wilson.
Police say Collins shot Wilson June 26 during an argument near the Oxford Street shelter in Portland’s Bayside neighborhood. They are still working to establish a motive.
Wilson died July 3 in a hospital.
Collins is facing a separate assault charge in connection with a November stabbing. His attorney says that made seeking a bail hearing “academic.”
