A Searsport teen was killed and two young men were injured early Friday morning when their car rolled over and crashed on Route 1A in Winterport, police said.
Isaac Miller, 18, died at the scene, according to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office. Monty Judkins, 23, and Skylar Schvertt, 21, both of Bangor, were taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after police responded to the report of the single-vehicle crash.
The crash happened at about 1 a.m. Friday, and the investigation is in its preliminary stages, Waldo County Sheriff Jeff Trafton said. Police believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, he said.
The crash happened in the vicinity of 906 North Main St. in Winterport, which is also called Route 1A, and caused the road to be closed for a time.
The road has since reopened.
