About 20 Holden households will see their power cut off for about three hours Friday morning.

Emera Maine said Monday that it’s planning the outage so crews can remove a tree that could fall during a storm and cut off power. The residents who will lose their power live on Farrington, Hasting and Carter drives.

“This tree is what we call a ‘danger tree,’ and we want to clear it out before it takes down service,” said Amanda Cummings, an Emera spokeswoman. “We do this proactively to help with our reliability.”
