A 16-year-old Sanford girl who was reported missing has been found safe.
Ellie Thompson had been last seen leaving her home in Sanford about 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Sanford Police Department.
Sanford police said Thursday afternoon that Thompson was found in Alfred after receiving a tip.
The FBI and Maine State Police assisted with the search.
