A civilian employee at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery died Sunday from complications associated with COVID-19, according to WGME.
The civilian was assigned to Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement Activity, shipyard Commander Captain Daniel Ettlich said.
“Along with Captain Pantling [SUBMEPP Commanding Officer] and the rest of SUBMEPP, we here at the shipyard are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a member of our submarine maintenance team,” Ettlich said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the individual’s family, friends, and coworkers as we extend our deepest sympathy and wish them comfort and healing.”
It was unclear whether the deceased was a Maine or New Hampshire resident, which would affect whether the employee was listed as a Maine or New Hampshire COVID-19 death.
