Bangor police on Monday identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday night as Dillan Springer, 28, of Bangor.
Springer, who died at the scene, was one of two men riding motorcycles about 11:10 p.m. on Union Street toward Davis Road, according to Sgt. Wade Betters, spokesman for the Bangor police department.
Springer and Matthew Marquis, 34, of Bangor, were attempting to pass other vehicles, he said. While in the oncoming lane, both motorcycles collided with a vehicle that had turned left off of Davis Road onto Union Street.
The driver of the vehicle was not released.
Marquis, who does not have a Maine motorcycle license, was taken to a Bangor hospital for treatment, Betters said.
No charges have been filed. The case remains under investigation.
