A school bus rear ended a car on Roosevelt Trail in Naples Monday morning.
Susan McMahon, 72, was driving a 2010 Thomas Bus with 31 K-5 children when she struck a 2009 Subaru Outback from behind, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The car, driven by Amelia Harmon, 35, was attempting to turn left into Lake Region Convenience.
The impact of the crash pushed Harmon’s car into the parking lot, causing it to hit an unoccupied, parked 2004 Chevy Trailblazer registered to Jennifer Knight, 35, of Casco, officials said. Harmon’s car continued on to strike an empty propane tank rack at the store, forcing it through the exterior wall.
The crash is still under investigation, but speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, officials said.
