A 95-year-old woman died in a fire on Saturday at her home on Cheney Road in Chelsea.
Gladys McGuire — who lived alone — was found dead at 87 Cheney Road after officials were called to the home at 6:47 a.m., according to Shannon Moss, public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
McGuire’s remains will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be conducted on Sunday, Moss said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
