South Portland is moving ahead with an indoor mask mandate.

At a workshop Tuesday night, city councilors directed the city manager to draw up an emergency proclamation to be signed by the mayor on Friday and then voted on by the council next Tuesday.

South Portland’s mask mandate won’t have any fines or enforcement attached to it.

The council also plans to make signs and masks available to businesses.

Brunswick and Portland also require people to wear masks indoors.
