Two people were injured, and one was hospitalized, after a fire in Palmyra on Tuesday night.
At approximately 7:51 p.m., the Palmyra Fire Department responded to a fire and a reported explosion at a house on Meadow Lane, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Five people were at the residence when the fire broke out. All five were able to escape the house, but two people suffered from serious burns. One of the people with burn injuries was transported to a local hospital, according to Moss.
The house is considered a complete loss.
The Maine fire marshal’s office is investigating the circumstances of the fire.
