The South Berwick police chief has resigned following a report about him insulting a neighboring police department

Dana Lajoie was placed on administrative leave in November after the paper released a video of him berating a Berwick police officer, according to the Portland Press Herald.

In the video, Lajoie accused Berwick officers of trespassing on his private drive, questioned the integrity of the Berwick Police Department and said Berwick officers lie, the Press Herald reported.

The town paid Lajoie more than $65,000 for his resignation. Lajoie’s resignation ends a more than 40-year career in South Berwick, according to the Press Herald.
