A Pennsylvania woman was killed Sunday night when the pickup truck she was in crashed into a tree in Naples.

Chase Weese, 21, of Naples was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado on Lambs Mill Road, near the Hideaway Road intersection, about 11:25 p.m. when he went off the road and hit a tree before the truck came to a rest on its side, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Weese, who was not wearing his seatbelt and was extracted from the truck with the Jaws of Life, was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland with potentially life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said Monday morning.

His two rear passengers, 21-year-old Alexa Burak of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and 14-year-old Nathan Burak of Berwick, were able to free themselves from the truck and were later taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with minor injuries.

The front passenger, 22-year-old Ashley Gentile-Wing of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt, the sheriff’s office said.

No additional information was released, but the crash remains under investigation.
