One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a car crash in Southport.
The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. on Cross Road, according to NBC affiliate News Center Maine.
The car hit a tree and caught fire.
The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, died at the scene, the TV station reported.
Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
