A 35-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car in downtown Bangor on Thursday.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as he crossed Union Street in the crosswalk around 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley of the Bangor Police Department.

The vehicle was turning left from Main Street onto Union Street. The driver told officers they didn’t see the pedestrian in the crosswalk, McAmbley said.

The pedestrian was brought to the hospital with serious injuries.
