Police arrested a juvenile who broke into a Brunswick home and threatened a woman early Wednesday morning.

The break-in happened at about 2 a.m. at a home off Bay Bridge Road, police said. A woman sleeping at the home woke up to a person hovering over her who threatened to cut her with a knife, though the knife wasn’t in hand, police said.

The woman wasn’t injured.

The person left a short time later, fleeing on foot and leaving behind a pair of shoes, police said.

Responding police searched the area and were able to identify a suspect based on the woman’s description. That person, a juvenile, was tracked to another home using a police dog and taken into custody.

He’s been charged with burglary, criminal threatening, assault and being a minor consuming liquor. He’s being held at Long Creek Youth Development Center.
