Bangor police responded to a “shipwreck” near the library Tuesday morning.

A Community Connector bus rear-ended a pickup carrying a canoe on Harlow Street near Franklin Street. The bus, truck and canoe were all damaged in the crash, Bangor Police Department said.

The canoe on top of the truck crashed into the bus’ windshield, according to a video shared on Facebook. The bicycle rack on the front of the bus was damaged too, police said.

The digital display on the bus said “Out of Service.”

No people were injured in the crash, and seat belts were used, police said.
