The kerfuffle going on in the House of Representatives is showing the people of this country what kind of people we are electing to office. The speaker of the House should be just that, the speaker for the wishes of the House.

The speaker should be the most senior member, who is willing, to assume that position period. Party affiliation should make no difference because the job is to report what the House has voted on. If a person is not willing to take that position of importance, we should be looking as to why he/she is there in the first place.

The animosity between the members of the House does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about the future of this country. Party politics is getting to be the downfall of our system.
