The woman killed Tuesday morning in a tractor-trailer collision in Poland has been identified.
Janelle Sperdakos, 23, of Poland was traveling north on Route 26, also known as Maine Street, in a 2018 Hyundai about 7:10 a.m. when she lost control and skidded into the path of a 1995 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by 39-year-old Simon Couture of Coaticook, Quebec, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Sperdakos died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Couture wasn’t injured.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was released.
