After a late-season storm dumped snow across Maine over the weekend, numerous households remained without power into Monday morning.
Dangerous road conditions, including ice and downed branches slowed power restoration efforts on Sunday. As of 7 a.m. Monday morning, 102,134 households served by Central Maine Power remained in the dark.
By 1:30 p.m., that number had dropped to 75,343. Numerous services throughout the Portland area remained impacted by power outages, including the Portland Housing Authority and the Portland branch of the Cumberland County Federal Credit Union.
Versant Power reported a handful of isolated outages on Monday, with some Hancock County residences feeling lingering effects of downed branches.
Storm cleanup efforts will continue through the day Monday.
The weather outlook for the rest of the week predicts rain, with National Weather Service forecasters expecting freezing rain to move in Tuesday night. The outlook for Wednesday through Friday is expected to be soggy, but conditions could change.
