There was nothing suspicious found in luggage that a police dog indicated on at the Bangor airport Tuesday morning.
The explosive-sniffing police dog alerted handlers to a potential issue in the international terminal at the Bangor International Airport around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said.
The police department’s bomb squad responded and investigated the luggage that was in the international part of the terminal. There was nothing suspicious or illegal in it, McAmbley said.
No flights were delayed or canceled, and the terminal remained open during the investigation, airport spokesperson Aimee Thibodeau said. There was no imminent threat, she said.
“Our employees did a fantastic job and followed all of our safety procedures,” Thibodeau said.
She referred additional questions to Bangor police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. U.S. Customs did not respond to a call seeking comment.
