Blue and red lights flash on the top of a police car.

Three adults and several children were injured Saturday when an antique vehicle lurched forward, crushing several people between a car and a trailer with children on it, according to Kennebunk Fire-Rescue.

The antique vehicle was part of a May Day parade that was forming its line on Water Street in Kennebunk.

Three adults were hurt and two had significant injuries to their lower extremities. Several children had bumps and bruises, fire-rescue said.

Kennebunk Police Department and the fire-rescue crews responded immediately.

It appeared to be unintentional, fire-rescue said.
