Police converged Wednesday on Route 1 in Baileyville.
The bridge was closed Wednesday morning on the Calais side of the Baileyville Big Stop, according to the Washington County Regional Communication Center.
Traffic coming off Route 9, also known as the Airline Road, was unable to turn right, while traffic coming from Calais didn’t have access to Route 9, dispatch center said Wednesday morning.
The road was closed for what was described as a “police incident.”
Just after noon the dispatch center said that the road had reopened to traffic.
No additional information was immediately available.
