Update: The driver has been identified.

A man driving a pickup truck crashed into a Hampden home and died on Monday morning.

The man was eastbound on Coldbrook Road around 8:30 a.m. when he left the road for unknown reasons, Hampden Public Safety Director Christian Bailey said.

He drove through a field before crashing into a house in the 300 block of Coldbrook Road, about a mile north of the intersection with Route 202, Bailey said.

The man died from his injuries, Bailey said. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

Two people were inside the house at the time of the crash, but neither was injured.

Coldbrook Road was down to one lane Monday morning, with flaggers helping direct traffic.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office helped with reconstructing the scene of the crash, Bailey said.
