A man was arrested Friday after he allegedly stole a bicycle from a 12-year-old in Brewer.
Thomas Sylvester, 20, was charged with theft and violating his bail conditions, according to the Brewer Police Department.
Sylvester allegedly stole the child’s bicycle at the Brewer Community Pool. The 12-year-old gave chase but couldn’t catch up with Sylvester, Brewer police said Saturday afternoon.
Police later found Sylvester on North Main Street. He initially gave a false name, police said, but officers identified him and arrested him on an active warrant.
The bicycle was returned to the child.
