Two people died in a car crash shortly after a police chase Monday morning in Bangor.
Noah Mushero, 39, of Bangor, and Sheena Soctomah-Rolfe, 39, of Orono, died in a crash on Finson Road between Broadway and Davis Road, Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office had been chasing Mushero and Soctomah-Rolfe shortly before the crash, McAmbley said. Their speeding vehicle left the road and hit a tree around 9:30 a.m. Their deaths were unattended.

There was an active warrant for Soctomah-Rolfe’s arrest for alleged drug trafficking, McAmbley said. He did not know why the sheriff’s deputy was trying to stop the car Monday morning.
The Bangor Police Department is investigating the crash on behalf of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office. Maine State Police is providing crash reconstruction for the investigation, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
Finson Road was closed from around 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the crash investigation.
