Bangor might soon get its first Aroma Joe’s location.

Early next month, the Bangor Planning Board will consider a land development permit for a proposed 1,540-square-foot Aroma Joe’s location with a drive-thru on the northeast corner of Haskell and Hogan roads.

Aroma Joe’s specializes in coffee, espresso drinks and other caffeinated beverages with some breakfast food options. Founded in 2000 by four cousins from Maine, the chain has grown to include more than 100 locations throughout the Northeast. The closest Aroma Joe’s to Bangor is on Park Street in Orono.

If approved, construction on the coffee shop would likely begin in late 2024 and be completed in 2025, according to the application, which was submitted by Brennan Development LLC.

The Aroma Joe’s would fit 23 seats and be built on 2.82 acres next to Swett’s Tire & Auto Inc., adjacent to Sam’s Club.

The Bangor Planning Board will consider the land development permit application for the restaurant on Aug. 6.
