Maine State Police have identified the victim of a shooting last week in Poland as 51-year-old Richard Tayman Jr., of Oxford.

Police were called to 252 White Oak Hill Road at about 7:50 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2.

Tayman was brought to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, who determined that he died from a single gunshot wound, and that his death was a homicide.

The person responsible for shooting Tayman is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, according to Maine State Police.
