Three people were taken to the hospital and two others were less seriously injured after a golf cart crashed into a dining table and bystanders in Port Clyde Thursday evening, according to The Courier-Gazette.
At around 5:40 p.m. in the St. George village, a golf cart driver made an operating error and lunged forward, striking a dining table and several bystanders nearby. One of the bystanders was pinned underneath the cart, the newspaper reported.
Three of the bystanders were transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, and the golf cart’s driver and passenger were treated on the scene, according to The Courier-Gazette.
The incident happened on private property, and no charges were issued.
