I don’t think I’ve ever dreaded driving through a section of highway quite as much as following the new double-swerving lane change arrows for Stillwater Avenue south, heading back to Broadway from the Bangor Mall. No lane choice is safe!

If you get in the outer lane there’s a dead-end merge. Good luck! If you follow the middle lane direction of the swerving painted lines and the overhead sign, the car next to you (more likely than not) will cross into your lane just by continuing “straight.” And like the driver next to me recently: Never look sideways. Good luck!

I don’t understand the need for this particular experiment. It seems more like a fix about to cause an accident. Put it back the way it was.
