A Mississippi man has been accused of shooting another man on Hogan Road in Bangor on Tuesday night.
Martavious Moore, 30, of Collins, Mississippi, was charged with elevated aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, refusal to submit to arrest and disorderly conduct, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Moore apparently got into an altercation with the victim outside 701 Hogan Road, where Bangor Inn and Suites is located, about 9 p.m., McAmbley said Wednesday morning.
During that altercation, Moore allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim.
The victim, who hasn’t been publicly identified, was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Police located Moore, who was staying in a motel room, about 9:30 p.m., but he refused to talk with police. Moore eventually exited the room about 4 a.m. and was arrested.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
Inside the motel room police found a handgun officers believe was used to shoot the victim, as well as a rifle, McAmbley said.
The shooting remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
