Four people were injured Friday morning when a work van rolled over on Interstate 295 in Freeport.

Edison Uscha-Roto, 29, of South Portland was driving a white GMC work van with five passengers north on I-295 about 6:58 a.m. when “for an unknown reason” he went off the left side of the road, hit the crossover and rolled over before coming to a rest, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The wreckage blocked one lane on I-295, and the crash left tools and construction equipment strewn across the interstate and the median.

Moss said that Uscha-Roto was driving with a suspended license.

Uscha-Roto and three passengers were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where they were treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
