The Bangor Daily News and its national partner, Decision Desk HQ, called the 2nd Congressional District race at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday for U.S. Rep. Jared Golden.
The Democrat won his reelection bid over state Rep. Austin Theriault in a narrow race that’s expected to head to a recount.
As of around 5 p.m. Wednesday, with more than 95 percent of precincts reporting, Golden had received a 50.3 percent of the votes to Theriault’s 49.7 percent.
