Market Basket is opening a new grocery store in Scarborough by 2026.
The Massachusetts-based grocery store has a cult-like following among some New Englanders, with three locations already in Maine. The latest location opened in Topsham in June.
The two other Market Baskets in Maine are located in Biddeford and Westbrook. There are a total of 90 locations across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine
The new store will be located at the corner of Market Street and Scarborough Downs Road. According to a company spokesperson, the 80,000-square-foot store plans to carry around 50,000 products, and could produce around 300 jobs.
