A Thursday evening crash on Interstate 95 involving two tractor trailers left one of them, a water tanker, on its side across the highway.

State troopers were called to the southbound lanes of the interstate at Exit 7 in York at 5:42 p.m., Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.

The water tanker rolled over blocking two lanes of the highway. The driver, Larry Roberge, 64, of Waterboro, was brought to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries, Moss said.

The second tractor trailer, a flatbed, was driven by Konstantin Volikov of Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was uninjured, Moss said.

No additional details were immediately available.
