Two men allegedly led police on a chase Monday afternoon following a robbery in Corinth.
Gary Roshto, 56, of Charleston was charged with robbery, while 35-year-old Kevin Bowley of Lagrange was summonsed for robbery and 52-year-old Cynthia Williams of Milo will be summonsed later, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Roshto allegedly burst into an older woman’s McCard Road home in Corinth about 3:57 p.m. Roshto, who didn’t know the woman, then pushed her to the floor, took jewelry and left in a dark-colored vehicle, Moss said Tuesday morning.
Before he got away, the woman got the vehicle’s license plate number.
A fire marshal spotted the vehicle heading north on Route 15 in Corinth and tried to pull it over, but the driver kept going and led police on a chase through Charleston and Atkinson.
That chase came to an end when the driver crashed at the intersection of Range and East Dover roads in Dover-Foxcroft, where Roshto and Bowley fled into the woods, leaving behind an injured Williams in the vehicle, Moss said.
Police found Roshto and Bowley a short time later. The stolen jewelry was recovered in the vehicle.
Roshto was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he remained Tuesday morning on $5,000 bail, according to the jail’s website.
Bowley and Williams were taken to a hospital, where they were treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.
It wasn’t immediately clear who was driving the vehicle.
No additional information was immediately released.
