A Massachusetts man died Thursday afternoon when his snowmobile crashed into a box truck in Maine.
Jamie Rooney, 52, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was riding a Ski-Doo snowmobile with a friend on ITS 89 about 2 p.m. Thursday when he crossed onto Hastings Road in Jackman, according to the Waterville Morning Sentinel.
Katheryn Jackson, 22, of Jackman was driving an EJ Carrier box truck on Hastings Road at the time. Police told the Sentinel that Rooney couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the box truck.
Alcohol isn’t considered a factor, and Rooney was wearing a helmet, the Sentinel reported.
