Rescuers freed a child’s leg from a snowblower Sunday in South Berwick.

The child’s leg became trapped in the snowblower’s auger about 10:30 a.m., according to the South Berwick Fire Department.

When rescuers arrived, the child was lying on the ground in front of the snowblower.

It took rescuers about 20 minutes to free the child. The child, who avoided any major injuries, was taken to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire.

No additional information was immediately available.
