A Turner man died and four others were injured in a Tuesday morning collision in Canton.

A southbound silver 2004 Subaru Legacy and northbound black Toyota Tacoma collided about 8:28 a.m. on Route 108, also known as Pleasant Street, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Subaru’s driver, 19-year-old Jyrrmal Yates of Rumford, was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

The driver of the Toyota, 43-year-old Aaron Hastings of Turner, was gravely injured and died at the scene. His passengers, three children ages 12 to 15, were all injured: one with a broken wrist, one with neck and back pain, and the third with unspecific minor injuries. They were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
