BELFAST — Becca Biggs and her band will rock Belfast’s Underground Lounge on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
Biggs has established herself as a statewide success over the last several years. Born in Memphis, Tennessee and growing up in Maine, Biggs has a unique sound and style. Her powerful 2022 album “Genie” contains musical moments ranging from quiet and intimate to intense and powerful. Combined with folk, rock, and alternative influences, Biggs and her band have created a sound that is both muscular and enveloping. Her twangy, Memphis-born sound colors but never overpowers her band.
That band includes J.R. Braugh (guitar), Sam Yawdik (drums) and Zack Bence (bass), all veteran performers with chops honed in other bands — The Dolphin Strikers, El Grande, and Chris Roth and the North, respectively. With Biggs, their blend of folk, alt-country, and rock propel original tunes that keep audiences on their feet. To hear more Biggs and learn about her upcoming album, visit www.beccabiggs.com.
The Underground Lounge, Belfast’s DIY winter music series, is in the basement of the Belfast Maskers Theatre at 17 Court Street in Belfast. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10-$20 at the door (cash only). Homemade baked goods and drinks will be available for purchase.
