Bill Belichick wanted the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to copy his Maine girlfriend on emails to him.

It’s a quirky revelation that came to light when Axios and The Assembly began reporting on the budget increase for the university’s football.

Chapel Hill is betting big on Belichick, boosting the Tar Heel’s $40 million budget by $8 million, the outlets reported. Chapel Hill reeled in Belichick earlier this year, signing a five-year contract worth $10 million annually to bring him on as head coach. The contract also includes $3.5 million in bonuses.

In a Dec. 16, 2024, message, Belichick asked that the university copy his girlfriend, 23-year-old Jordon Hudson, on emails to him about social media posts, according to a screenshot of the email shared by journalist Matt Hartman on social media.

“Can you include her on anything you send to me? Thank you. BB,” Belichick wrote to Robbi Pickeral Evans, the senior associate athletic director for external affairs and strategic communications.

Hudson, a Miss Maine finalist and daughter of a fisherman, has a popular account on Instagram, which she used earlier this month to promote the cause of the state’s fishermen after the Trump administration cut support for Maine Sea Grant. The Commerce Department has agreed to renegotiate funding for that program.

Hudson and Belichick met on a flight in 2021 and began dating in 2022. They moved in together last year. A source close to Belichick told Page Six that they have “definitely discussed marriage.”

Belichick started his NFL career in 1975 as an assistant for the Baltimore Colts, 26 years before Hudson was born in April 2001. Belichick won his first Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2002. Belichick attended an NFL Honors event last month with Hudson.
