Another Aroma Joe’s is scheduled to open in Bangor this year.
The coffee shop will open in the old Tim Horton’s at 444 Main St. in Bangor. A sign announcing the forthcoming Aroma Joe’s and that it’s now hiring recently appeared on the building.
It’s the second Arome Joe’s to be announced in Bangor in less than a year. Franchisee Aaron Wiswell is opening the Main Street location, as well as another Aroma Joe’s at Haskell and Hogan roads, which was announced in July.
Aroma Joe’s specializes in coffee, espresso drinks and other caffeinated beverages with some breakfast food options. The closest Aroma Joe’s to Bangor is on Park Street in Orono.
The Main Street shop will open May 1, if construction goes according to plan, Wiswell said. An electrician was working in the building Tuesday morning.
The Hogan Road location, which is being built from the ground up, will likely open in June or July.
“We’re super excited to get into the Bangor area,” said Wiswell, who owns nine Aroma Joe’s.
A drive-thru and indoor seating will be included in the Main Street location, Wiswell said.
Aroma Joe’s is quickly expanding through northern Maine. A coffee shop will open along Route 1 in Houlton later this year, becoming the one farthest north in the state.
